During your follow-up visits, specialists will check your blood pressure. It is important to maintain normal blood pressure (around 120/80). An increase could indicate signs of preeclampsia, a complication that must be closely monitored.

At this point, you will be offered an ultrasound. The ultrasound is increasingly used. It is painless and after many years of use, no adverse effects have been noticed for the baby or for the mother. This test let’s us see the foetus, detect foetal abnormalities and monitor foetal growth. The results are instantaneous and the three-dimensional ultrasound is now available in some clinics.
