Exercise and good nutrition could promote better skin elasticity and help you prevent stretch marks. Controlling your weight gain could also prevent them. Even if the use of lotion is somewhat controversial as to its effectiveness, you have nothing to loose in using lotions or oils (sweet almond or grape seed oils for example) to hydrate your skin.
