Tips and advices - 13th week

A good diet, rest and exercise are still essential. You will probably be told about the triple test that evaluates the presence of markers in the mother’s blood that could suggest congenital anomalies of the future child. In Quebec, the mother must pay for this test performed at the end of the first trimester or at the beginning of the second.

The triple test also includes the nuchal translucency ultrasound between the 11th and 14th week of pregnancy (gestational weeks). However, this test cannot predict birth defects with absolute certainty. More tests must be carried to confirm the results.
