5 activities to get the kids moving

An obstacle course

Kids love to compete! Gather the whole family for a great obstacle course. Here are some ideas of easy obstacles you can create yourself:

  • Attach the legs of 2 members of each team with a string to do a 3-legged race
  • Put an egg on a spoon and race while trying to avoid dropping the egg
  • Install a course of old tires in which you can jump in and around

Use your imagination to create original obstacles adapted to your children! They will love to participate in this obstacle course with your family.

Jumping on a trampoline

Jumping on a trampoline is a great way to get kids moving while they are having fun because they love the thrill they get from jumping. Why not learn some new jumps and tricks together so you can show off to your friends later? If you don’t have a trampoline at home, you can visit a trampoline club during their free practice hours.

Climbing

If your kids regularly drive you up the wall, you might want to consider finding a wall climbing gym like Horizon Roc Climbing Center in Montreal that offers 2 climbing rooms and an indoor acrobatic park like Treego with a zip line! What a great way for them to spend their energy!

Bike Ride

Going for a family bicycle ride is a must in the summer and the in-between season's! If your kids are still too young for a tricycle or bicycle, sit them comfortably in a trailer or the booster seat and go for a nice bike ride on a trail and you can even stop for a nice picnic by the water or in a park!

Ball games

Balls, balls, and more balls! Divide your family into two teams, let your children chose a game that interests them and have fun playing in the backyard. Basketball, volleyball, soccer, baseball; all you need is a ball and lots of fun!

A teenager’s bedroom

Your teenager's bedroom is a disaster. You even invented new words to describe this horrendous place where food and clothes seem to blend into a new kind of carpet but your child doesn't seem to mind. What can you do?

My child is smelly!

Your child is now 6 years old. The innocence of childhood still shines brightly in his or her eyes but… they're smelly! When your child gets hot, you scrunch your nose and smell a tinge of sweat. Are they too young for deodorant?
