Christmas parades 2012

Anjou

The district organizes a parade again this year on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. The parade will leave from Chénier Avenue and Joseph-Renaud Boulevard and will finish at the intersection of boulevards Yves-Prévost and Joseph-Renaud.

Ottawa

The Help Santa Toy Parade of Ottawa organized by the Ottawa Professional Fire Fighters Association is on Saturday November 17th, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. and will feature bands, clowns, floats, mascots and majorettes.

Montreal

The 62nd traditional Santa Claus Parade organized by Destination Centre-ville will be held on Saturday, November 17th, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. The twenty floats will parade on Ste-Catherine West from Rue du Fort to St-Urbain.

Quebec City

For the 11th Edition of the Toys parade in Quebec City, the toys will come to life. On Saturday, November 17, you’ll be able to see beautiful floats, marching bands, entertainers and mascots. The parade will begin at 3:00 p.m. on St-Vallier, in St-Roch, and turn on St-Joseph Street to end on street St-Dominique. Like every year, children will have the opportunity to give toys to the helpers who will donate it to the Fondation Réno-Jouets.

Toronto

The Santa Claus Parade of Toronto will take place on Sunday, November 18th, 2012 for a 108th time. On their beautiful website, you can get ready to feel the magic and share the memory. You can also find a way to get there, visualize the route and find the perfect spot to see Santa.

New Brunswick

The Santa Claus Parade in Greater Moncton, New Brunswick will take place on November 24th, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. and this year’s theme is a Mystical/Enchanted Christmas. The parade starts at the corner of Cameron and Main Street and runs to the corner of Champlain and Paul Street.

Granby

The Big Christmas parade of Granby will be held on Saturday, November 24 from 10:00 a.m. The beautiful floats – all made in Granby – will leave from Principale street on the corner of Dufferin and will reach the Galeries de Granby, at the intersection of Principale and Évangeline.

Sherbrooke (Fleurimont)

It’s on November 27th that Santa’s Parade will pass through Sherbrooke. The parade will be leaving from 13th avenue, in Fleurimont, at 1:30 p.m. to arrive at the Station market (720, Place du marché de la Gare) at the end of the afternoon.

Montreal

In Montreal also, the Defilé des rêves of Plaza St-Hubert, will be held on Friday November 30th, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. This year, the parade will have antique fire trucks, animation and the real Santa.  It will all take place between Bellechasse and Jean Talon.

Gatineau

This year, Santa’s Parade will be held on Friday, November 30th. It will make its way along Principale Street starting at the corner of Front (near l’Imagier) and turn on Wilfrid Lavigne to end on the corner of John Egan.

Saint-Sauveur

This year’s parade will be held on Saturday, December 1st, from 6:00 p.m. leaving from the intersection of Principale and Monette. Santa and his friends will then walk down the street, all the way to Mayor’s Place.

Knowlton

A parade of floats followed by Santa and his little helpers will be in Knowlton on Saturday, December 1st, at 1:00 pm. It will go downtown by Knowlton Street, then on Lakeside to finish at the Academy Knowlton where children will have the opportunity to meet Santa! Hot chocolates and bags full of surprises will be offered.

Deux-Montagnes

The Santa Claus parade of Deux-Montagnes, on December 2nd, will set out at 1:00 p.m. at the intersection of Oka Road and the 20th avenue and will end on the 8th avenue, in front of the Town Hall.

Ste-Julie

The twinkling parade of December 8th will leave around 6:30 p.m. in front of Provigo beside the Hauts-Bois shopping mall. The route will stretch on 4km and the parade will be seen on Saint-Joseph Boulevard, Principale and N.-P.-Lapierre Boulevard. It will arrive in front of IGA where children will be given candies and where they can post a letter to Santa Claus in a special mailbox. Be sure to include your name and address if you want him to reply!

La Doré

The village of La Doré in Saguenay has been organizing a very original parade over the last few years: it is a Christmas walk for all citizens. It will leave the church at the center of the village around 5:00 p.m. and the 3km walk will end at the Moulin des Pionniers where a huge bonfire and animation will welcome the walkers.
