Miranda is a top model for Victoria’s Secret and is married to the handsome Orlando Bloom who is known for his role in The Lord of the Rings. A few hours after giving birth, she posted this picture on Twitter. Here is what she had to say about it:

« The photo was one of the first photos Orlando took. We both loved it and we wanted to share it. The pleasant surprise was that it also had the added benefit of promoting breastfeeding which to me is the most natural thing in the world and I love it. »

Gwen Stefani

Rocker mom Gwen Stefani, known for being the front runner of the group No Doubt had her two sons with husband Gavin Rosdale, also a rocker. She loves breastfeeding, even though there are some downsides. In a candid interview with the New York Post she reveals:

« I don’t know when I’m going to stop breastfeeding. I’ll just keep going while I can – like, he’s getting his teeth so it is a little bit scary. He’s bitten me a few times! »

Maggie Gyllenhaal

The actress, known for her role in the latest Batman reboots and because she is Jake Gyllenhaal’s sister, recently opened up to Babble about the pressures of motherhood and breastfeeding:

« I’m not a leave-them-in-their-crib-to-cry kind of girl. Fundamentally, I didn’t find that worked. Everyone’s got their own thing, you know? You can’t tell another person when it’s right to stop breastfeeding, or how to put your kid to sleep. Every child is different. »

Angelina Jolie

A very well known actress with an inspiring resume, Angelina Jolie is also known for her work in multiple charities and her marriage to the gorgeous Brad Pitt which brought them six wonderful children (three are theirs and three were adopted!)

During an interview with GMTV in England, she opened up about breastfeeding her twins: « It's very hard, you look in the books and there's this football hold and you think, « If anybody can do that, I can do that. » And it's a lot harder than it looks in the books! »

Courtney Cox

Known for her roles in the TV show Friends and the Scream horror movies, Courtney Cox shared her experience nursing her daughter Coco (whom she had with actor David Arquette) in the Daily Record:

« Breastfeeding is undoubtedly the best thing you can do for your baby, » she said. « It took a lot of persevering through the weeks because my daughter didn’t latch on properly and it really hurt, but I’m happy I stayed with it because not only do I have a special bond with my child, but it’s easy now and is also extremely healthy. »

Christina Aguilera

Christina is a very popular songstress and she had her son in 2008. During an interview with Access Hollywood she defended breastfeeding by saying:

« I think they say that when you're breastfeeding, your weight kind of slims down.  It's a little easier.  It's like a workout within itself.  It's very tiring actually and you find yourself snacking more often. »

Salma Hayek

During a trip to Sierra Leone in Africa, actress Salma Hayek took time to breastfeed a baby whose mother was too malnourished to feed him. While recalling the experience on USA Today, she explained her actions this way:

« The baby was perfectly healthy, but the mother didn't have milk. He was very hungry. I was weaning Valentina, but I still had a lot of milk, so I breast-fed the baby, » she says, her voice dropping. « You should have seen his eyes. When he felt the nourishment, he immediately stopped crying.

 

Gisele Bundchen

Gisele is a world renowned top model who started a scandal and angered women around the world when she shared her vision on breastfeeding this year in Harper’s Bazaar UK:

« Some people here think they don't have to breastfeed, and I think « Are you going to give chemical food to your child when they are so little? » I think there should be a worldwide law, in my opinion, that mothers should breastfeed their babies for six months. »
