Pregnancy/Maternity

Pregnancy and heavy legs

There is a recurrent pattern in pregnant women: the heavy legs phenomenon. What causes it? There are several reasons for this.

Among the reasons that explain heaviness, there is the production of hormones that affects your blood circulation. Later in pregnancy, it is the increase in blood pressure resulting from the compression of the uterus on the venous system that causes this feeling of heaviness.

Other factors may aggravate it such as the number of pregnancies, the tendency to gain weight, genetic legacy, lack of physical activity, bad diet, etc. and you will understand that very few women can avoid swollen ankles and legs.

What can we do to help it?

There are many solutions to reduce and ease this heaviness in your legs:

  • Practice a soft physical activity like gym or swimming to help regulate venous return.
  • Watch your diet.
  • Get legs massage. It will help you relax, drain and improve your blood circulation. You will perceive the result at the end of the session and you will fine all the finesse that you’ve lost, even if it varies from one woman to another.

That’s it! You are now equipped to understand the problem.

Do you find yourself often repeating phrases like "Hello? Is anyone there?" ? If so, it seems that your child is often absentminded. Here's how to help your distracted children stay concentrated.

A teenager’s bedroom

Your teenager's bedroom is a disaster. You even invented new words to describe this horrendous place where food and clothes seem to blend into a new kind of carpet but your child doesn't seem to mind. What can you do?

My child is smelly!

Your child is now 6 years old. The innocence of childhood still shines brightly in his or her eyes but… they're smelly! When your child gets hot, you scrunch your nose and smell a tinge of sweat. Are they too young for deodorant?
