Family activities for the Holidays

NEW BRUNSWICK

In the town of Moncton, head to Centennial Park to enjoy 230 acres of recreational parkland and activities for all ages. Hike on the all-season trails, explore the cross-country ski trails, go sledding, snowshoeing or ice-skating, play hockey or enjoy the kids’ playground. Open all year round until 11 p.m.

NOVA SCOTIA

Get your snowsuits on and come slide down Halifax's famous Citadel Hill!  Enjoy the fresh air and feel the excitement! Your kids will love it, and so will you!

NEWFOUNDLAND

For a great tobogganing experience, pack up the kids and visit St. John’s Bowring Park. Several hiking trails are also available to allow you to enjoy nature at its finest!

PRINCE EDWARD'S ISLAND

For hours of fun, try the Brookvale Nordic Touring Center’s 250 feet long sliding hill. Using the hill is free, but if you need equipment, you can get a tube at the Nordic rental shop for $5.

QUEBEC

Canada’s largest winter fun centre, Valcartier Vacation Village offers you 42 slides, Snow Rafting and Tornado, children’s play areas and skating paths. With it's 5000 inner tubes and 17 mechanical lifts, you’re in for a memorable experience!

ONTARIO

Toronto’s High Park is the family destination in the winter. Almost 400 acres make up this city park where you can enjoy a myriad of free entertaining activities including sliding, hiking, skating on the ice rink and a fun mini petting zoo. Hop aboard the train for a ride around the park ($4 for adults and $3 for kids). Park is accessible 24 hours a day; petting zoo opens at 7 a.m. and closes at dusk.

MANITOBA

The Forks’ Skating rink is available for leisure skating and pick-up hockey games. The rink is maintained daily with a Zamboni, offering excellent ice conditions. Hockey nets and warm-up shacks are provided. And while you’re there, why not try the Toboggan Chute close by?

SASKATCHEWAN

The Table Moutain Tubing Park is open every afternoon from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Take note that kids must be at least 110 cm to ride in the park. Ski and snowboarding are also available on site.

ALBERTA

Banff National Park houses some of the best tobogganing hills of the country, surrounded by an unforgettable décor. Other winter activities for the whole family abound in the area as it is a popular vacation destination and you’ll often be able to find deals with close by hotels.

BRITISH COLUMBIA

At Grouse Mountain, you’ll be able to enjoy a host of fun activities, including an 8,000 square foot ice-skating Pond and skiing. The admission to the park is $39.95 $ for adults, $23.95 for children 13 to 18 and $13.95 for children 5 to 12; free for children under four years of age.
