REGISTRATION

  1. What are the benefits of registering on Motherforlife.com?
    1. To read about all the advantages, please visit and read our page: Why Register?
  2. What are the steps to register on the site and message boards?
    1. Visit the page Become a member and fill out the form.
    2. You will receive a confirmation email. Click on the link provided to confirm your registration.
    3. Once you've confirmed your registration, you may now enjoy all our special features.
  3. Why am I receiving an error message saying that my email address is already registered?
    1. You may have already registered on Motherforlife.com in the past and forgot to de-activate your account.
    2. In that case, go to the page Password Finder and enter your email address. You will receive an email with your password, allowing you to go back to your account and update the information.
    3. Someone you know may have used your email address to register on our site.
    4. If that is the case, please send an email to Motherforlife.com's administrators so they can investigate the situation as soon as possible.
  4. What should I do if I forget my password?
    1. Go to our Password Finder page
    2. Enter your email address. You will receive an email with your password.
  5. Can I use the message boards without using all the new features in the profile section?
    1. The new features are an integral part of the new Motherforlife.com website and boards.
    2. If you do not want to use the features, do not fill out the additional information (personal information, children, photo albums, friends, articles)

  1. Who should I speak to if I want to add an event to your Calendar?
    1. You may send us an email by going to our Contact us page
    2. Fill up the form and select the title Suggest an event

ADVERTISING

  1. How can I advertise on your website?
    1. Visit our Advertisement page located at the bottom of our website.
    2. If you agree with our mission statement , our core values and you would like to advertise on our website, please use the Contact us page to let us know.
    3. Fill up the form and select the subject line: Advertise on our site

  1. What are your security and privacy policies?

MEMBERS FEATURES

  1. How can I edit my personal information?
    1. Visit the page My information
  2. How can I change my username?
    1. Go on the page Modify my profile
    2. Please note that your new username must be unique as doubles will not be accepted on the boards.
  3. How do I add or edit my profile picture?
    1. Go on the "Main picture" page in your profile.
    2. Chose a picture from your albums or upload a picture from your computer.
    3. Alternatively, if you are in one of your photo albums, you can click on the icon use as my profile picture.
  4. Can I reactivate my account once it's been deactivated?
    1. Deactivating your account is a permanent and irreversible action.
    2. If you want to create a new account, click here.
  5. Where can I find my profile?
    1. Your profile is located on the main menu, just left of the Members tab, in the form of a little icon on which you can click.
    2. Alternatively, you can find your profile by clicking on the View my profile icon, located at the top of our page.

NEWSLETTER

  1. Where should I go to stop receiving the newsletter?
    1. At the bottom of each newsletter, you can find a link to deactivate your subscription
    2. Alternatively, you may enter your profile and choose the Newsletter options tab to opt out.
  2. Why am I receiving the Pregnancy newsletter a week late?
    1. First of all, please note that the newsletter is sent every Monday.
    2. If you are in your 12th week, and are starting your 13th week on a Tuesday, you will be receiving the newsletter for the 12th week, because it was sent on the Monday when you were still in your 12th week.

PHOTOS

  1. How do I add pictures to my profile?
    1. Please visit the My Photo Albums page located in your profile
    2. Please click on Add an Album
    3. Once your album has been created, please click on Add pictures
    4. Please note that you must already have created an album to add pictures.
  2. How can I delete a photo album or a single picture?
    1. Please visit the My Photo Albums page located in your profile
    2. To delete an album, click on the Delete icon located next to the album.
    3. Please note that this is a permanent action and you will not be able to retrieve a deleted photo album.
    4. To delete a picture, follow the same procedure on the page My pictures

PREGNANCY

  1. How do I change my pregnancy options if I've given birth early?
    1. Go to the Pregnancy Options page located in your profile
    2. Click on the I've given birth icon. You will then be able to enter the date and add a child to your profile.
  2. Why are my friends unable to access the information I've entered about my children?
    1. Because information pertaining to your children is private and only you can access it.
    2. There is no profile page for your children
    3. The only confidentiality parameters in place will make visible the number of children you have and their name on your own profile page.
  3. What if I have twins?
    1. Once you've given birth, you can add more than one child for that particular pregnancy.
    2. You can also add a child directly in your profile.
    3. In the newsletter tab, you can combine the same newsletter for your twins, instead of receiving it twice.
  4. What if I have a miscarriage?
    1. Go on the Pregnancy Options page in your profile.
    2. You can delete a current pregnancy by clicking on the X icon.
  5. How can I access past pregnancies?
    1. Go on the Pregnancy Options page in your profile
    2. All your past and current pregnancies will appear on the main page. Click on the pregnancy journal you wish to view.
  6. How can I view information on a different pregnancy week than the one I'm currently in?
    1. Go on the Pregnancy Options page in your profile
    2. At the top of all the pages of this feature, you can find a timeline with all pregnancy weeks. A green arrow indicates how far along you are on the timeline.
    3. To view the information for a different week, simply click on that week on the timeline.
    4. You will then be able to view information on your baby's development, the changes you are going through and the advice for that week.

FRIENDS

  1. How can I find other members if I already have some information about them?
    1. Please visit our Member search page.
    2. Enter the information you know about them and click Search.
  2. How do I add a friend?
    1. Go on the profile of the member you wish to add to your friend list.
    2. Click on Add to my friends
    3. Please note that the member has to approve your request before you see the changes in your friends list.
  3. How do I delete a friend?
    1. Please visit the page My friends located in your profile.
    2. Find the entry you wish to delete and click on the Delete icon located on the top right of the avatar picture.
    3. Please note that the friend you deleted will not receive a notification of this action.
  4. Why is it that I added someone to my friends list and they do not seem to be there?
    1. As long as they have not accepted your request, they will not appear on your list.
    2. To view all the sent friend requests that have not yet been approved, please visit the page Friend request sent
  5. How can I move a friend to a different group of friends?
    1. Please visit the page My friends located in your profile.
    2. Find the person you want to move groups and click on the icon Move Groups
  6. Why did one of my friends disappear from my friend list without me removing them?
    1. If you recently deleted a group of friends, that friend may have been in that group.
    2. Please note that if you delete a group of friends, all the friends in that group will automatically be deleted as well.
    3. Perhaps that person deleted you from their friends list. In that case, you would not have received a notification but that person disappears from your list. As such, you will now only be able to access their public information.
  7. How can I see more options in the View more like me feature?
    1. The selection is made by using the information you have entered in your profile.
    2. To see more options, make sure to fill out the following: Personal info (Location and age), My children (how many and their age), My Pregnancy (how far along you are).

NEWSLETTER

  1. How can I receive only articles relevant to my current situation (Pregnant/Parent)?
    1. Please visit the page Newsletter Selection and select the one you wish to receive.
    2. Please note that you can review your selections by visiting My Newsletters.

EMAIL OR PRIVATE MESSAGES

  1. Where should I go if I wish to stop receiving email notifications?
    1. Visit the page Private messages located in your profile and choose the tab Notifications
  2. How can I send a private message to a member who is not in my friends list?
    1. Visit their profile
    2. You can send them a message by clicking Send a message, located below their avatar.
  3. Who can I notify if I'm being harassed by private messages?
    1. If you are being harassed by a member, please use the contact us form.
    2. We will review the situation and take the appropriate course of action to resolve it.
    3. Please note that your identity will not be revealed.

CONFIDENTIALITY

  1. How can I access my privacy options?
    1. Your personal information is managed by Motherforlife.com. Please note that only your friends can view this information.
    2. Regarding your pictures, pregnancies and children, you may change the privacy options by visiting the Confidentiality page located in your profile.

WALL

  1. What should I do if someone posts something inappropriate on my wall?
    1. You may report an inappropriate message by clicking on the Report icon located in every message.
    2. The administrators and moderators will receive a copy of the offensive message.
    3. Moderators will delete an offensive message.
  2. How can I add a picture or an article to my favorites?
    1. You will find a Favorite icon at the end of every article.
    2. The same Favorite icon is located below every video.
  3. Should I answer a friend's message on my wall or theirs?
    1. It doesn't matter. You can do it either way.
    2. Please note that if you decide to answer on your own wall, your friend will not receive a notification but will only see that message the next time he/she visits your profile.

SECURITY

  1. What should I do if someone else is using my account without my permission?
    1. Start by going to the page Forgot my password and enter your email address.
    2. You should receive an email with your password.
    3. If the person using your account is smart, they may have changed the email address associated with it.
    4. If that is the case, when you go to the page "Forgot my password" and enter your email address, you will receive an error message telling you that the email address entered does not exist.
    5. Please contact administrators using the "Contact us" page as soon as possible to explain the situation in detail and we will investigate your account activity. Please be aware that we may need to ask you a few questions to confirm your identity.

CONTESTS

  1. Where can I enter the photo of the month contest?
    1. Please visit the Future contests page.
  2. I entered the contest but can't see my picture, why is that?
    1. Your picture will need to be approved by Motherforlife.com before appearing on the list.
    2. This is a formality to ensure that all pictures respect the current contest's theme and requirements.
